School visits

You must book if you'd like to bring a school group to The National Archives at Kew. This is because we can only accommodate a set number of groups per day. We can take a maximum of 35 students per group.

Our history workshops for schools are very popular and need to be booked well in advance through the Education Service.

Workshops are available either on site at The National Archives or by videoconference. Qualified teachers or professional historical interpreters deliver workshops. Most workshops are available free of charge.

Workshops are available for pupils of all ages and abilities, and are designed to tie in with the requirements of the History National Curriculum and examination board specifications.
