Catalogue reference: BT 356/1335
This series of reverse blueprints of a pier and pavilion at Dover dated 1889 have been stored rolled and have become very brittle.
As the roll was opened the plans have split and crumbled into hundreds of fragments.
The plans were humidified to flatten them and then reassembled and lined with a paper fibre tissue. They were then encapsulated in 75-micron polyester sleeves.
And sewn into a portfolio made from 500-micron polypropylene.
