Explore North Devon

An innovative digital archive is displaying the fruits of its labours in a showcase exhibition set to tour the area over the coming months. The archive enables communities in northern Devon to collect and research information about their local heritage and present it to a global audience through the Internet. An impressive range of collections, recordings and stories has been assembled on the project website at www.explorenorthdevon.org, providing an ever-growing resource that will be of interest to both locals and visitors alike. There you can listen to witnesses of the Lancaster bomber crash in Mortehoe in 1945, look at old photographs of Bratton Fleming's churches and schools, learn about the wild flowers of Hollocombe or take a heritage trail around Winkleigh Airfield.

Exhibition at:
Museum of Barnstaple & North Devon: 29 March - 19 April 2008
North Devon Library & Record Office: 6-16 May 2008
