Records and Memories of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry
The Records and Memories of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry will capture and preserve the memories of veterans of the Infantry through a reminiscence project. The project will focus on surviving veterans of the Second World War and later campaigns such as Korea, 1951-52, Persian Gulf and the Mau Mau campaign in Kenya in the 1950s.
A programme of cataloguing and digitisation will take place to make the written and photographic archive of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry fully accessible.
The project hopes to promote awareness of the contribution of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry both locally and nationally by organising a series of events in Shropshire which will include opportunities to meet the veterans and a travelling exhibition.
