Frodsham local history

In partnership with Cheshire and Chester Archives and Local StudiesExternal website - Link opens in a new window, Frodsham and District Local History Group are working to conserve a large photographic collection of approximately 7,000 images, dating from 1750 to the present day. Local volunteers are working to produce a catalogue of the images available.

The collection illustrates changes in the towns built heritage and landscape over the past 150 years and also records peoples lives and work during the period. Access to the collection will be widened by image digitisation and the creation of a project website. The collection will be promoted within the local community, increasing learning opportunities by working alongside local teachers to develop learning materials for Key Stage 2, and producing an exhibition to celebrate the project and promote it locally.
