Education

To create useful and relevant educational resources it has been fundamental for the Archives 4 All projects to fit the requirements of the National Curriculum for history and citizenship.

The project Letter in the Attic is using a Teacher's Advisory Group to help guide the creation of an education pack, which will be targeted at key stage 2 and 3 pupils. The packs will give the students the opportunity to engage with the reminiscences, thoughts and writings of older citizens from their community in Brighton and Hove.

Cotton Threads, Using Police Records in Education, What's Beneath your Feet?, Explore North Devon and Mauretania: Pride of the Tyne are developing education packs also aimed at key stage 2 and 3. The material will provide added learning opportunities in addition to classroom coverage of the topics. Frodsham Local History project and the projects Rural Roots and Blood, Thunder and High Society will both be working with local teachers to develop learning materials using photographic collection and digitised material.
