Funding of A2A
The A2A Central Team and running costs are funded by The National Archives. Organisations which wish to contribute material to the A2A database need to seek funding elsewhere. Some information is given below.
- For further information see funding (of contributory projects)
From April 2002-April 2003 the central part of the Access to Archives (A2A) programme was funded by the Public Record Office, prior to the founding to The National Archives.
From April 2000-March 2002 (during Phase 1 of the A2A programme), financial support came from the Invest to Save Budget
run by HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office. There was also money from A2A's lead partners (the Public Record Office, the Historical Manuscripts Commission and the British Library).
Funding for A2A projects contributed by partners has to be found elsewhere. Heritage Lottery Fund
has made grants to many A2A projects. Project support has also come from other bodies including:
- The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council
through its regional agencies, via the National Council on Archives
- The New Opportunities Fund

- The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation
