Grant aid

There are a number of grant-awarding bodies that provide funds for caring for and providing access to archives and manuscripts.

In this section we give a comprehensive list of the main funding bodies for supporting the archival sector and advise on applying to them.

We also give details on the Archive Lottery Advisory Service, which supports archive services throughout the UK in making applications for lottery funding and the Cataloguing Grants Scheme and National Manuscripts Conservation Trust both administered by The National Archives.
